What is your role at GE Vernova?
I am a Solution Director for Microgrids and I am part of a global team which develops Microgrid projects. Microgrids are found in many different industries and integrate all types of renewable energy, so we deal with different customers from all over the world, from Australia to USA.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Actually, I have very versatile job. I spend some of my time in direct contact with our potential customers presenting our GE Vernova portfolio and helping them to find best solutions for their challenges. I also spend some of my time in improving and developing our microgrid portfolio but also designing microgrid solutions for concrete customer projects. Other than that, I represent GE Vernova at various conferences and help develop new microgrid business.
What inspires you to work for a company like GE Vernova, leading the future of energy?
First, the legacy of GE which stands for innovation and engineering excellence in many of its products and solutions. My personal feeling is that in the past few years and with the recent split, GE Vernova is gaining momentum in growing our customer base, which makes working here even more exciting.
How do you live out our purpose “the energy to change the world” every day?

I love innovation and it is definitely the single most important driver for me. It is what gives that energy to change the world. It is what makes my job a real pleasure, whether I am designing microgrid green hydrogen plants to replace fossil sources, or microgrid railway hubs which will decarbonize the rail network.
What does sustainability mean to you?
It is important for me, to the extent that I try to live and work using only the resources I really need. I really don’t like wasting anything, whether it is food, energy, or everyday stuff.
How do you practice sustainability at work and in your personal life?
I spent a lot of my career life on optimization problems, such as optimizing distribution grids and microgrids and having seen the potential of it, I have made it part of my life. So, I try to optimize the resources I use in everyday life and work. When I travel for example, I will choose train over plane if it is within couple of hours difference, and I will also switch off my computer when I get off from work. When this becomes a habit, you don’t even feel it, but it makes a big difference.
What does a sustainable future look like to you?
Sustainable future means moving the Earth Overshoot Day back to 31st December, which is the date when humanity’s demand on nature’s resources surpasses Earth’s capacity to regenerate them for the given year. If we can achieve that we will be good. I hope my children’s generation will live to see it and we have a lot of work to do to make it happen.
